Recirculating Air Filter Cabinets
(7 Article in 24 versions)Recirculating air filter cabinets allow different hazardous materials to be stored together in a single cabinet. Suitable substances for recirculating air filter cabinets include flammable liquids, water-polluting liquids, a combination of both, or corrosive liquids. Many models also offer a fire resistance rating of 90 minutes (Type 90).
Recirculating air filter cabinets for the safe storage of hazardous materials
Features of recirculating air filter cabinets
Available as a hazardous materials cabinet, chemical cabinet or acid and alkali cabinet
No separate exhaust duct to the outside is required
Easy to move thanks to the wheeled base
Overview of filter saturation and air exchange inside
Our fire-resistant recirculating air filter cabinets (Type 90 in accordance with EN 14470-1) meet the fire safety requirements for all hazardous materials as standard. European Standard 14470-1 also stipulates that vapours must be contained. Thanks to its integrated filter, the recirculating air cabinet meets these requirements twice over.
Advantages of recirculating air filter cabinets
- Storing several hazardous materials in one cabinet
- Using surveillance technology
- With a multi-stage broadband filter
- Fire-resistant
- Automatic door closer
- Vapour retention of up to more than 99.998%
What do I need to bear in mind when storing materials in a recirculating air filter cabinet?
If different hazardous materials are to be stored together in the same recirculating air cabinet, the technical regulations for hazardous materials must first be observed. These regulations specify, on the basis of 25 storage classes, which substances may not be stored together, or may only be stored together under certain conditions.
At the same time, the stored hazardous materials must be protected against unauthorised access. This applies to burglary and vandalism, but also includes internal misuse. Generally, only a limited number of people should have access to the substances, whilst untrained staff must not be granted access.
Regular maintenance of the cabinet must also not be overlooked to ensure it functions properly. We are happy to take care of this – simply contact us directly at the time of purchase or at any time thereafter!
How are recirculation filter cabinets equipped?
All recirculating filter cabinets are fitted with a special recirculating filter system that traps hazardous vapours of all kinds. With recirculating filter technology, vapours are extracted directly at the source, filtered, and then returned to the room as clean air.
In addition, the recirculating filter cabinets are equipped with useful extras such as:
- Pull-out shelves
- Removable shelves
- Trays for moving out
- Floor trays
- Partition walls
How does a recirculating air filter cabinet work?
The recirculating air filter system is ideal for installation in workspaces, as the filter operates at a noise level of just 39 dB(A) – roughly as quiet as a whisper. All recirculating air filter cabinets are fitted with a multi-stage broad-spectrum filter that offers high absorption capacity. This broad-spectrum effect is achieved through a combination of different types of activated carbon. It is important that the filters are checked regularly for saturation. An electronic monitoring system is used for this purpose, which triggers visual and audible warning signals as soon as oversaturation occurs. This ensures the safety of every recirculating air filter cabinet. A police filter provides the necessary protection in the event of a failure by retaining pollutants for a certain period of time should a filter breakthrough occur due to oversaturation. This ensures that no pollutants can enter the work area even in such circumstances.
