A padlock reliably protects your valuables against unauthorised access. The advantage: Padlocks do not have to be installed, but can be attached to the bracket with the bracket at the desired location as required - for example, they secure locker doors, cabinets or tool boxes.

A padlock is a reliable solution to protect valuable items from unauthorised access. The benefit of a padlock lies in its simplicity: a safety lock does not have to be installed, mounted or otherwise integrated into an existing setup. Instead, the shackle or loop can be threaded through the handle, recess or folding grip on a locker, cabinet or toolbox, and then pushed into the pad-lock’s housing. As a result, the items contained within are secure. The DENIOS online shop contains a curated selection of safety locks, padlocks and lock sets to cater to every requirement, including compact security locks with cable loops, safety locks with plastic coatings and chain locks.
Our padlocks with steel cable loops are available in six different colours, with a cable length of between 200 mm and 400 mm, making them ideal for various areas of application. Non-conductive safety locks enjoy wide popu-larity among electricians and other tradespeople, as they are fitted with flex-ible, PVC-coated steel cables instead of a conventional loop, making them especially suitable for separating energy sources that are in close proximity to each other. Each lock is provided with a key and can withstand extremely high ambient temperatures for effective outdoor use.
A lock cylinder contains mechanical codes that are scanned by a key. Before anything else can happen, the key’s profile has to match the cylinder’s pro-file, as this is the only way the key will properly fit the lock. Of course, the profile is such that multiple (wrong) keys can actually be inserted into the lock, but only the correct key will function – a key will turn and release the locking mechanism only if all the grooves match. The individual pins, which are mounted to pin springs, are depressed inside the cylinder core according to the grooves on the key’s body. If, when the right key is inserted, all the pins are depressed to the correct height, the cylinder core can be turned ac-cordingly and the lock will open.
In the case of a double-sided lock, also known as a double-cylinder deadbolt (often installed in the front or back door to a house), the lock may not open if a key has already been inserted in one of the cylinder’s sides. To ensure unimpeded access even if one side is blocked, it is important to check whether the lock is stated to be securable from both sides.
Safety locks with shackles – also known as padlocks – are used if the instal-lation does not have its own integrated lock or if it needs to be locked using a chain. The shackle is pushed through a chain link or loop and then clicked home in the padlock housing. Padlocks are often used to secure lockers, boxes, cases, and roller shutters for shops and retail units. Depending on the model and material used, they can provide exceptional resistance against attempts at forced entry. If an employee has keys for several safety locks, it is advisable to install padlocks that all lock in the same way, as this means the same key can be used to open multiple locks. This reduces the number of keys that the employee must carry and minimises the risk of loss. A safety lock with a steel shackle provides the highest level of security, while a safety lock with a plastic-coated shackle also offers electrical insula-tion.
