Configurable emergency showers from DENIOS UK

DENIOS’s configurable emergency showers impress with their high-quality, needs-based design. Their high user acceptance ensures that immediate assistance is actually provided in an emergency – for example, in the event of chemical, biological or thermal accidents. Various components can be added, such as signal columns that are immediately visible in an emergency, outdoor lighting with motion detectors, and side and rear panels that offer additional protection and are ideal for creating a compact emergency shower cubicle. This results in a customisable safety system that is optimally tailored to the specific working environment.

Why are configurable emergency showers a good idea?

Configurable emergency showers can be tailored precisely to the requirements of your project – from installation indoors or outdoors to specific explosion-hazard zones. It is important to select the flow regulator and the required water volume for the personal emergency shower in such a way as to ensure sufficient flushing in an emergency. Depending on your needs, you can choose the equipment flexibly, for example with an eye wash, hand shower or signal light. Additional options such as a frost protection kit or an emergency shower cubicle ensure that your emergency shower functions reliably and is optimally tailored to the safety requirements of your workplace.

What are the advantages of an emergency shower without a water connection?

Emergency showers without a water connection – i.e. tank-fed emergency showers – offer maximum flexibility in terms of installation, as they are independent of existing water mains. They are particularly suitable for outdoor areas, construction sites or potentially explosive atmospheres where no direct water connection is available. Furthermore, they allow precise control of the water volume supplied and can be configured with appropriately sized tanks to ensure the required flushing duration. Thanks to their simple installation, they are quickly ready for use whilst still offering full protection in an emergency. Optionally, these personal emergency showers can be fitted with an emergency shower enclosure, which protects against wind and uncontrolled water spray, ensuring that use in an emergency is both efficient and safe.

How does a portable emergency shower work?

The portable emergency body shower does not require a water connection and features a built-in water tank that provides the required volume of water (230 litres) for rinsing. In an emergency, the mobile tank-fed emergency shower is activated via an easily accessible release valve, causing water to flow immediately through the shower head or hand-held shower. Thanks to their design, they are portable and can be quickly moved to the desired location using a crane, hand-operated trolley, forklift or transport vehicle, ensuring effective protection at all times – regardless of the installation site.

What legal regulations and standards apply?

Configurable emergency showers must also comply with legal requirements, in particular health and safety legislation. In some EU countries, the DIN EN 15154 standards are also relevant; these specify the requirements for emergency eye wash units, emergency body wash units and their water supply. These include criteria such as flow rate, response time, accessibility and the provision of a sufficient flushing volume. In potentially explosive atmospheres, the requirements for explosion protection must also be observed. Companies are obliged to check emergency showers regularly for functionality and hygiene in order to ensure the safety of employees in the event of an emergency. Our models support compliance with COSHH guidance, and ATEX zoning.

Which emergency shower is best suited to this specific application?

Choosing the right emergency shower depends on various factors, such as the installation location, water supply, explosion-hazard zone, desired features and the required water volume. To find the best solution for your specific application, we recommend using our selection guide, which takes you step by step through all the relevant criteria and makes the decision easier.
