More than 50 years of success have ensured that Alfmeier now occupies a leading position in the automotive sector. The subsidiary Alfmeier Automotive Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is responsible for the supply of components to the automotive industry. But before the components are installed, it is part of the alfmeier Group's quality standard that each element is subjected to extensive testing.
The way to an efficient and safe test laboratory
In order for the behaviour of components in the fuel to be tested for the mark and leg, an Alfmeier laboratory must meet a number of requirements: Among other things, the bearing, test and test area should be spatially networked, explosion and gas protection components must be installed by the employees and the test laboratory will be installed indoors.
In addition, it is important to create space systems in such a way that they can be used to carry out long-term tests: up to 5,000 hours, i.e. about 30 days, can take a test – a long time. In addition, around 40 fuels will be used for the tests. The Alfmeier Group planned a laboratory for the Shanghai site, which meets all these requirements. For this reason, it was obvious to commission the international expert in the areas of hazardous materials storage and technical room systems: Alfmeier Automotive Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. developed an individually tailored three-chamber solution together with DENIOS AG. so sophisticated that all requirements for a safe multifunctional room system are met and provide easy accessibility and usability. In addition, the solution from Germany brought with it a considerable time advantage: As a self-contained and approved system, the DENIOS room system could be easily and quickly integrated into the existing production rooms.
The DENIOS room system
As a multifunctional room system, the laboratory developed by DENIOS for the customer Alfmeier is a true hazard protection all-rounder. The 3-room system is divided into a storage area where the fuels and additives are available for testing, a test area in which fuel and components are prepared for testing as well as before and after the influence of various thermal influences. and a heat chamber in which the components are aged under the influence of different temperatures between 40-60 degrees Celsius.
The bearing and testing area is fully air-conditioned, ensuring a constant temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. In order to ensure that the fuels are quickly ready for testing, a pump can be used to transport substances from the bearing directly into the test room via a foot pedal. The highest possible level of safety is also guaranteed by the fact that numerous explosion-proof elements are installed there.
If the test objects are in the heat chamber in the test, the fuels may evaporate due to the temperature exposure. In this case, the employees would have to intervene in the test in order to refill it. However, this does not happen in the new room system: a cooling trap, which is connected to the heat chamber via leading up pipes, intervenes in the system and ensures that the fuels do not evaporate, but condense. Employees are also protected from gas development by a precise warning system. In each chamber, a 24/7 working fan ensures that the air is constantly replaced. In the event of a gas warning, another fan will automatically be activated in each room – an all-round protection for workers in China.
But it is not only on site that the sophisticated room system can be monitored or maintained: from Germany, too, a data storage system that archives everything for 12 months can be used to intervene and make remote diagnoses.
