Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Role Type: Full time

Location: Newport Shropshire

We now have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the UK. Working in a small team of engineers, the position is responsible for all design and engineering functions function

The position is supported by a Mechanical Design Engineer and engineering resources in Germany. 


Core Responsibilities:

·         Define storage cabinet specifications to meet customer requirements.

·         Provide costing information for sales quotations.

·         Create mechanical drawings in SolidWorks and Bills of Material for customer approval and manufacture.

·         Prepare electrical specifications and liaise with suppliers to find the most cost effective and reliable supply source.  

·         Arrange and supervise the creation of wiring diagrams and other electrical design documents for customer approval and manufacture.

·         Define equipment ratings for ATEX zoned areas.

·         Solve any design issues during the manufacturing process.

·         Advise where necessary on corrective actions or repair plans for customer service or to address customer problems on site.

·         Collaborate with engineering teams from Denios Group Companies in other countries.



·         Formal electrical/mechanical engineering or design engineering qualification, preferably to degree level, but minimum HNC/HND.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

·         Trained and experienced user of SolidWorks or Inventor 3D CAD software.

·         Mechanical/electrical design experience in a fabricating/engineering environment.

·         Preferably familiar with DSEAR and ATEX regulations, working to BS EN 60079.

·         Some training or experience in electrical design software would be an advantage.

Role Type: Regional Sales Engineer

Role Type: Full time

Sales Territory: South East region (Sales Area 1)

Reporting to: Sales Manager

Operating base: From home, within the region.

Company location: Newport, Shropshire.

We now have an opportunity for an experienced territory sales person to join the UK sales team as Regional Sales Engineer. The Regional Sales Engineer will be responsible for selling the company’s entire range of products to customers in his/her territory. 


Core Responsibilities:

         Agree and achieve Order Intake sales targets with the Sales Manager, with a primary focus on Catalogue Products.

         Adopt the company sales strategy in all respects in the territory.

         Generate own sales leads in line with proactive sales activity targets.

         Prepare own quotations with the support of the UK office.

         Support and increase sales to Resellers in the territory.

         Maintain margins in quotations and orders as directed by the Sales Manager.

         Develop relationships and business with selected Key Accounts in the territory.

         Report activity on the company CRM planning and monitoring tools.

         Liaise with UK office on contract fulfilment, deliveries and account management.

         Attend the UK office as required for training and meetings.

         Respond to customer complaints and communicate the company’s response plan.

         Monitor, record and report market and competitor intelligence.

         Attend exhibitions and trade shows in the territory and nationally where required.

         Occasional travel to Germany may be required for sales and technical training.



         NVQ Level 2 or higher.

         Must have minimum 4 years’ successful and demonstrable track record in sales roles for manufacturing or reseller companies.

         Proven ability to sell into (and extensive knowledge of) the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, engineering and oil industries, as well as the education, defence and health sectors.

         Successful track record in managing and developing profitable relationships with Key Accounts and distributor networks would be a distinct advantage.


Knowledge and Skills:

         Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

         Proven negotiation and deal closing skills, recognised sales training history.

         IT-literate, entirely comfortable and competent in all MS Office programs, good experience of CRM software.

         A technical background would be an advantage, or at least a proven ability to absorb, understand and discuss technical detail confidently with the customer.
