Plastic, steel or stainless steel: Our "Facts about sumps" Q&A links below will tell you which sump is the right one for your needs.
What requirements must the sump fulfil?
The kind of material you wish to store will determine whether you need a plastic or a steel sump.
Galvanized or painted steel sumps are used to store water-polluting or flammable substances such as oil or paint.

PE or stainless steel sumps are used to store aggressive chemicals such as acids or alkalis. Stainless steel and polyethylene sumps are corrosion-resistant and thus suitable for storing aggressive media.

How large should the sump be?
"The required sump capacity must conform to regulations: the sump must be able to hold 110% of the largest container stored or 25% of the total volume stored, whichever is the greater. As long as the storage conditions used in areas, where water needs to be protected, are regulation compliant, the whole of the quantity stored will be retained within the sump.
"
