2K 714 IBC and Drum Storage 'Systems' Container
A Superior Vision of Storage
As a contact lens pioneer for many decades and one of the largest specialist manufacturers in the world - including advanced brands such as Avaira and Biofinity for enhanced comfort and health - CooperVision is equally dedicated to the highest standards of health & safety considerations, hence the recent investment in Denios hazardous storage systems.
At the superb manufacturing facility at Hamble on the south coast near Southampton, CooperVison has invested in Denios high capacity 2K 714 Systems Containers to accommodate the crucial chemical of Industrial Methylated Spirit (IMS) which is the core liquid for the process of lubricating the lens during the manufacturing process. Denios is the world renowned name for chemical safety knowledge combined with in-house manufacturing expertise and outstanding value-for-money given the unrivalled quality of the products.
The company already had smaller Denios wing door units, and an appraisal and re-planning of the external storage area resulted in the two bigger configurations being installed. Each of the cabinets can accommodate a notable total of 12 of the steel Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). Vital ventilation is built in to the system, as is zinc plating and fully welded construction plus a 3 coat anti-corrosion paint finish in a smart and clean Denios Blue. Overall dimensions are 7000mm wide by 1580mm deep and 3500mm high. The overall entity conforms to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Keith Butler of CooperVision is very pleased with the consistency of Denios quality and thoughtful design “They are a very sound company and they know exactly what is required. The larger units mean more storage in less space and this has contributed to the tidier look of the area as well as increased traffic space and easier movement. We can now split the cabinets so as to have one dedicated for waste and the other for working ongoing IMS. And other major benefits include the easy gliding sliding doors being oblivious to windy weather conditions and the large integrated sumps tanks. The latter are especially important to prevent spillage and pollution. All in all it has been a very successful and multi faceted project”.
