Fabricator/MIG Welder

Reporting to: Production Foreman

Role Type: Temporary (min. 3 weeks), poss conversion to full time for the right candidate. 

Location: Newport Shropshire.

Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Mon–Thurs 07:00-15:45, Fri 07:00-12:45)

Start:Immediate.

In the UK, the company designs and manufactures a range of storage cabinets for flammable, hazardous or temperature sensitive materials and sells a wide range of over 5,000 other catalogue products, covering the full range of PPE and safety, hazardous material handling and spillage control equipment.

We are now looking to increase our production team with a Fabricator/Welder. 

 

Core Tasks:

To MIG weld self colour and galvanised steel tube, section and sheet. 

To fabricate steel structures as illustrated on the company’s website (http://www.denios.co.uk/hazardous-materials-storage-handling/hazardous-storage-outdoors/) 

To observe all the company’s Health & Safety and Quality policies and work procedures. 

Interpret manufacturing drawings, technical instructions and written specifications.

Qualifications and training:

City & Guild Level 2 welding qualification or above.

Health & Safety training.

Desirable: Overhead crane training and experience, Fork Lift qualifications.

Flexible and ability to adapt as circumstances require.

 

The company will provide all welding equipment, but the candidate should bring own welding mask.

Internal Sales Administrator

Role Type: Termed contract (Maternity cover), possible conversion to full time  

Reporting to: Sales Manager

Location: Newport, Telford

With over 700 employees worldwide, this privately owned German company has manufacturing operations in 6 countries. In the UK, the company designs and manufactures a range of storage cabinets for flammable, hazardous or sensitive materials and sells a wide range of over 5,000 other catalogue products, covering the full range of PPE and safety, Hazmat handling and spillage control equipment.

We now have an opportunity to join our UK team as Internal Sales Administrator. This is initially required for maternity cover for 9-12 months, but there is a medium term need to expand the internal sales team, so conversion to full time employment is a distinct possibility for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, adaptable, able to work in a fast moving and demanding working environment, with the communication and social skills to thrive in a small team. 

The Internal Sales Administrator will be responsible for supporting external sales engineers in the field, responding to customer enquiries and also telephone sales activity to sell the company’s products.  

Core Responsibilities:

• Work with Field Sales Engineers in their territories, monitor sales performance against targets and help with sales plan to achieve targets or develop the company’s business in the territories.  

• Raise quotations on SAP and create bespoke quotations in Word/PDF, process sales orders through SAP. Complete project forms and enquiry checklists, complete accurate costing/margin calculation forms in MS Excel.

• Make proactive outbound sales calls to generate sales and to organise external sales meetings for your field sales counterparts. 

• Answer phone calls, respond to client queries and deal with customer complaints in a timely manner. 

• Work with company CRM and management information tools.

• Advise customers on product suitability and selection from the Denios catalogue or the product range manufactured by Denios Limited in Newport. 

• Work with other departments such as engineering, purchasing, accounts and marketing to find solutions, track progress and answer customer queries. 

• Negotiate and calculate discounts where applicable for reseller companies whilst ensuring profitability. Maintain margins as required and directed by the sales manager.

• Develop relationships and business with selected Key Accounts in the territory.

• Respond to customer complaints and communicate the company’s response plan.

• Organise hotel accommodation, car hire, taxis and flights for occasional overseas travel of field sales engineers and/or international visitors.  

• Occasional (annual) travel to Germany may be required for sales or technical training.

• As part of a small UK team, an ability and willingness to help wherever necessary and appropriate is invaluable.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

• IT-literate -good knowledge of SAP or similar MRP systems.

• Entirely comfortable and competent in all MS Office programs, especially Outlook, Word and Excel.

• Good experience of CRM software. 

 

• At least 4 years of Internal sales experience.

• Proven telesales skills, including evidence of lead generation, negotiation and deal closing. 

• Experience of working with technical or engineered products would be a distinct advantage. At least a proven ability to absorb, understand and discuss technical detail convincingly with the customer.

• Experience of working with and selling into Denios’ core manufacturing sectors would be an advantage - chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and oil & gas and engineering.

• Experience in dealing with distributors would be an advantage.

• Experience in developing relationships and increasing sales to Key Accounts would be an advantage.
